How did you get started in the hairstyling industry, and what inspired you to become a hairstylist?
"I have been that girl who does everyone's hair and makeup since I was little. I loved the thought of someone looking their best because of me! I actually loved watching Steel Magnolias and watching Dolly do her magic in the salon in that movie. I knew I wanted to do something like that, and I also knew I wanted to work for myself.
After deciding during my senior year of high school that I was going to IU, my mom questioned me and made me really think about what I wanted to do with my life. I knew I didn't belong in an office working for someone else. At the last minute, I decided I was enrolling at Paul Mitchell of Indianapolis, and I haven't stopped since!"
Tell us about your salon and the hair services you offer in Greenwood, Indiana.
"I am Bellami certified in four methods of extensions: weft, tape-in, K-tip, and micro-bead extensions. I specialize in lived-in colors, blonding, and gray coverage. I recently started offering express gray coverage appointments, which get you in and out within 45 minutes.
These appointments are perfect for my corporate girlies who are fighting their grays and just need a quick touch-up! Whether you're looking for a major hair transformation, beautiful dimensional color, extensions, or a simple root refresh, I want to help you find the service that works best for you and your lifestyle."
What makes your hairstyling services and client experience different from other salons?
"My clients know what they're coming in for because everything about their experience is consistent every time! They know they're going to get the best performance I can deliver, whether it's a simple color service or a full extension install.
At the same time, they can relax in my chair with a glass of wine and chat with me, or decompress and scroll through their phones if that's what they need. I just want all of my clients to be able to relax in my space.
I want my chair to be a place where you can take a break from everything else going on in your life while knowing your hair is in good hands."
How do you customize each client's hair color and style to suit their needs?
"Of course, the obvious things matter, like whether you're needing gray coverage or just want to brighten things up or go darker. But I also pay attention to how you walk into the salon and how your pictures look when you're showing me family photos.
I like to see how you style your hair every day and figure out whether there are ways I can help enhance something or help you determine if something isn't working out 100% for you.
It's about more than just choosing a color. I want to understand your everyday routine, what you love about your hair, and what might be missing so we can create something that works for you both in the salon and at home."
What professional hair color and styling products do you use, and what do you love about them?
"Joico is my main color line. The coverage and longevity don't compare to any other brand I've used. It creates so much depth in my brunettes and keeps my blondes bright.
Moroccanoil and IGK are my tried-and-true styling products. I've tried a lot of brands, but those two always get the job done. I think everyone needs the Moroccanoil Treatment Oil in their hair routine. It literally changes the game!"
What hair services are your specialties, and what do clients love booking with you?
"Lived-in colors and a good highlight are my top services. My foil game is quick, but my blondes are always so bright and beautiful!
I love creating lived-in color because it gives clients that gorgeous, dimensional look while allowing for a softer grow-out. Whether you're looking for a bright blonde, a dimensional brunette, or a color that fits your lifestyle with less maintenance, these are some of my favorite services to create.

"Just be honest about previous colors and what products you're using at home. I can't help any hair issues you're having if I don't know the full details. I promise you I'm not judging you at all! I just want the best for you and your hair. :)
